Walking is the most prominent low impact exercise because anyone can do it any time anywhere. You also don’t need any special equipment to do this exercise. All you need is a comfortable pair of shoes. Just grab a fitbit and tracking your steps or challenge your friends. Plus you don’t even have to go outside. You can even grab a walking dvd.
Other Low Impact Exercises
If you’re thinking of aerobics as a low impact exercise, I’m sorry to say but aerobics is actually a high impact exercise. Why? Some movements require a lot of bouncing and movements. But there are also low impact aerobics classes.
Tai chi is another popular low impact exercise. Tai chi is an ancient exercise that is based on the combination of slow movement and deep breathing.
Yoga is also considered as a low impact exercise. Another one is pilates that is similar to yoga and tai chi, the main focus is strengthening your core without putting a lot of stress on your body.
You may also want to consider swimming, dancing, table games (table tennis) and doing arm and leg movements.
